Why is one magnetic object red and the other blue?
The compass senses the magnet because the red and blue object generates a field, that is, a region of space in which the effects of the presence of this magnet can be felt.
If you try to move out of the field, the compass stops behaving erratically, so there is a distance within which the compass strongly feels its presence (the magnetic field).
Levitation: it is the ability to make an object float without physical support by using magnetic forces to counteract gravity. Therefore, considering the second object, it remains levitating and does not fall to the ground. This happens because the attractive magnetic field (two poles that attract each other) generates an upward force that exactly balances the weight of the object, preventing it from falling and keeping it suspended in a stable position.
With the powder (iron filings), we will see the field lines (that is, the points that are tangent to the magnetic forces). If a field exists, all this iron filing must feel its effects. The field is able to attract and repel objects, since it is very strong. If the magnet is moved away from the powder, it is no longer possible to observe this, because it no longer makes the field act on it
